Last Friday evening I had the pleasure of meeting with Charlie & Holly for their wedding pre-shoot. They are getting married in the charming pretty village of Litton Cheney in West Dorset in around a month’s time.
After a little confusion over our meeting place (ahem! I had been sure this was to be the “thatched bus stop” in the middle of Litton Cheney) I finally found the right village a few miles down the road! After living in West Dorset 25 years, I had never been to Long Bredy, which is just 8 miles from home. When I arrived, I was gobsmacked how utterly beautiful the village was and the views were outstanding! How and why had I never visited this village before? I shall certainly be going back there!
We have a wonderful time; we walked down past the brook, to a gorgeous wooden bridge, a great spot for taking images then over to the waterfall and stunning lake. This location would make a wonderful site for an outdoor marquee wedding. A truly beautiful and wonderful hidden treasure of our countryside right on the doorstep in West Dorset. It was that time of day when the light was falling behind the trees. Charlie and Holly were naturals behind the camera; both so smiley, happy and very much in love. They were a joy to photograph. I am very much looking forward to capturing their wedding next month and absolutely adore their creative ideas for the day.
I love doing wedding pre-shoots. It’s great to meet the couple in a more relaxed environment before the big day and it also gives the couple time to get used to me and see how I work and for them. It really helps put them at ease so they feel happy and comfortable on their wedding day. If couples are nervous about having their pictures taken, I would always recommend wedding pre-shoots. It is part of the build up to the wedding and also it is special moment before the big day arrives.
